Rate Limiting & Enforcement
The Service implements rate limiting to ensure fair usage and maintain service quality. The following enforcement mechanisms apply:
- Rate Limit — Maximum 20,000 requests per day per IP address (configurable per endpoint)
- Violation Tracking — Each rate limit violation is recorded; repeated violations escalate penalties
- Permanent Ban — IPs exceeding the maximum violation threshold are permanently banned from the Service
- Global Lock — The Service may temporarily restrict all access if an unusual spike of unique IPs is detected within a short window (anti-DDoS measure)
- Ban Removal — Banned IPs can only be unbanned by administrator action
